According to Gibson production records only 248 were produced in 1966 with an addition 24 made the following year. Features a Mahogany body , Mahogany neck , and Rosewood fingerboard.

Neck is straight and true and plays quite easily with low action and no buzzing. ALL control knobs and 3 position switch are in good functioning order. Finish has the beautiful checking and patina desired from age. Pick guard has the Firebird logo with slight wear, and minor shrinkage which has separated ONE screw from the location near the controls (see close up). This guitar has been played, but has been well cared for by its current (2nd) owner.

Shows scrapes and wear from use, but overall is still very attractive. Its biggest issue would be an old body crack near the control knobs that was also very securely repaired long ago. (see close up photos) This was a fairly common damage / repair issue on the Firebird and does not affect its sound quality or playability. Overall a nice and very rare instrument ready for your next gig or recording session and should also be considered an investment quality guitar. This listing also includes an aftermarket Pro-Tec Case shown in the photo.
